
Caitlin Sweet
Caitlin Sweet is the author of five adult fantasy novels: A Telling of Stars (Penguin Canada, 2003), The Silences of Home (Penguin Canada, 2005), The Pattern Scars (Chizine Publications, 2011), The Door in the Mountain (CZP, 2014) and its sequel, The Flame in the Maze (CZP, 2015). Her books have been nominated for the Locus Best First Novel, Aurora, and Sunburst Awards; The Pattern Scars won the CBC Bookie Award in the Science Fiction, Fantasy or Speculative Fiction category, and The Door in the Mountain won the Copper Cylinder Award. Her novelette, “All the Songs”, was published in Fusion Fragment #23 in November 2024. She has been a creative writing instructor at the University of Toronto’s School of Continuing Studies for 19 years. By day, Caitlin works in communications at Ontario’s Ministry of the Attorney General. She lives in Toronto with her science fiction-writing husband, four cats, two rabbits, and, from time to time, two grown-up daughters.
