
Elisa Carbone
Elisa Carbone is a writer of contemporary and historical fiction for young readers. She is the author of three historical picture books, eight middle grade novels, two contemporary young adult novels, and one boring nonfiction book for adults. Her books have been on many state award lists, ALABBYA, ALA Notable Children’s book, and have won the Virginia Jefferson Cup Award twice. Her historical novels, especially Blood on the River: James Town 1607 (Viking, 2006) and Poison in the Colony: James Town 1622 (Viking, 2019) are widely used in school curriculums. Her chapter book series, Ari and Cricket: The Box in the Woods, is forthcoming from Reycraft Books. When not writing, she can usually be found windsurfing, rock climbing, kayaking, cross country skiing, or playing blues piano with her blues harmonica playing husband.
